SEPTEMBER 26TH WORKSHOP: DEMYSTIFYING VAGINISMUS
Have you ever struggled with pain during sex—especially during penetration? Sometimes the cause cannot be seen by the naked eye: there are a few pelvic floor disorders rooted in psychological reasoning. That means, sometimes our pelvic floor muscles tighten up for no apparent reason—either in our vagina (vaginismus), or in our vulva (vulvodynia).
We will cover:
- Overview of what vaginismus, vulvodynia, and pelvic floor spasms are, and what else could be the underlying conditions.
- Practical insights from therapy that helped Alex progress in her treatment: shifting the mindset around expectations from sex, relationships, and her body.
- The ups and downs of physiotherapy treatment: the difference between Kegel's exercisers and dilators, and what progress and healing look like. Suggested sex toys for achieving external orgasm.
- A 15-minute breathwork exercise used in physiotherapy, approved by a gynecologist with 8 years of clinical practice.
- Alternative vaginismus treatments: how can clinical hypnotherapy help with the healing?

About the Host
Alexandra Prochshenko (she/her) has had vaginismus for 14 years, and she went through quite a journey: from hiding the pain she felt during sex, to seeing gynecologists who didn't take her seriously and attending pricy physiotherapy that wasn't always easy to make progress in.
After years of feeling stuck & unlovable due to her condition, Alex discovered that the mix of psychology, hypnotherapy, and physiotherapy can do wonders for her sex life (and self-love!) when applied as a holistic complex solution.
Today, she's celebrating her progress by building Veloria app—a physio-/hypnotherapy app that can help other women to make progress when paired with traditional physio treatment.
